The Island of Samos
Samos is located in the north Aegean Sea. You can visit it by boat or plane. The island has a rich history and cultural heritage is well worth a visit.
Eating locations:
A beautiful village full of Greek tradition. The square is lined with restaurants and is ideal for a lunch or a romantic dinner. Here comes the water from Mountain Springs, is famous for its various healing properties.
Valley of the nightingales:
A very nice village where you can walk or drive through the valley of the nightingales (already in the afternoon you can hear in the forest and the river valley to the Platanakia melodic song of the nightingale) Here you will find restaurants, cafes and traditional crafts . <
Κοkkari:
Kokkari is a village with narrow streets and tumble dryer has 2 beaches, tavernas, bars, cafes and souvenir shops.
Samos Town:
It is the capital and largest port and has many shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. In the archaeological museum (including an impressive 5 meters high marble Kouros 580 BC) and the Byzanthijns museum. You can visit the archaeological museum from Tuesday through Sunday. The lower town with its vast bazaar is aimed at tourists. Much quieter is in Ano Vathy (the old Vathy).
Samos harbour:
It is a thriving tourist town with a picturesque marina, private beach, restaurants, bars, cafes and tourist shops.
Temple of Herai:
In this place were many temples built in honor of Hera. The latter was built by Polycrates in 525 BC and was the largest temple in Greece. Today only the base and a column of force.
Efpalineio Orygma:
The length of the aqueduct tunnel 1040m. Is one of the major technical achievements of the ancient world. The Polycrates Eupalinos commissioned to a tunnel that supplies water to the ancient city of Samos designed, you can see half of the aqueduct. Visits from Tuesday to Sunday.
Τurkije:
Only 1 hour and 40 minutes from the city with a boat, the Turkish town of Kusadasi is a nice place to visit. 25 minutes from Kusadasi lies the ancient city of Ephesus, the miracle of history and culture of this country.
Patmos:
It takes only 50 minutes by hydrofoil to the island of Patmos to reach the island that many half is called Jerusalem. Be sure to visit the church of St. John and the cave of Apoca.
